Secretary of State Jay Ashcroft visited two branch locations this Thursday. He was joined by State Representative Mitch Boggs in Mt Vernon, presenting a check touring the facility and taking time to speak with patrons and staff about the library, and offering his insights on the future of libraries in Missouri. Later, Mr. Ashcroft pursued a similar schedule in Monett. The checks presented totaled $83,450 and represented the previously awarded grants to the library. These grants were instrumental in our upgrading patron use computers, children's computers, and adding mobile hotspots that allow patrons to take the internet home with them.
