The BLRL will host a fantastic opportunity for writers and aspiring writers to come together, learn from experts, and share knowledge. Historical romance authors Julie Klassen, Erica Vestch, and Michelle Griep will be among the 28 guest authors.
​
The day-long event will illuminate topics such as building and applying timelines, dealing with imposter syndrome and writer's Block, marketing, plot building, self-publishing, and world-building.

Julie Klassen is a former editor and the author of nineteen historical romances, which have sold over a million and a half copies. She is a three-time recipient of the Christy Award and has also won the Minnesota Book Award and the Midwest Book Award. Julie and her husband live in St. Paul, Minnesota.

CC Brown (Schyrlet Cameron & Kathy Brown)

CC Brown is the pseudonym adopted by the two sisters, Schyrlet Cameron and Kathy Brown. The sisters have co-authored five cookbooks, four adult fiction books, and one children's book. Growing up in the Ozarks, much of their time was spent on their grandparents' farm, where their grandmother always kept them entertained... tending the garden, feeding the chickens, milking the cows, and listening to late-night tales. These memories are the inspiration for their writing. Schyrlet Cameron has thirty-four years of experience as an elementary and middle school teacher. She has authored or co-authored over 75 teacher resource books. Kathy Brown is a licensed preschool educator. She has forty years of experience in early childhood education and presently owns and operates a daycare center in southwest Missouri. Kathy has co-presented workshops on a variety of topics, including "How to Get Published.

Raven McKnight

Raven McKnight is an avid connoisseur of Celtic folklore, as well as many forms of mythology and theology. History is a passion of hers, especially ancient civilizations, which were an inspiration for "Sword of Stars." The author says, "I especially enjoy creating my own fables and myths for my realm."

Jon Scott Lee

Jon Scott Lee is a self-published author of two books so far, "The NOVA System" (Regal Summit Book Award for Best Action/Adventure) and "The Mental Take Over." He intends to write a third book that is currently in progress, with plans for several more projects.

Billie Fulton

After raising my family and working in the Women's Ministry for many years, Billie Fulton now follows her dream as a writer. She enjoys the challenge of writing about real people who lived through real-life situations. Her research takes many months to uncover their stories of faith and determination. Michael Knapp lives in Joplin, Missouri, with his lovely wife, Patricia. They have seven children, and 17 grand are active in their church and attending many activities in support of the grandkids. He has been writing for two years, with two books published. First, he wrote "Shattered by Love" and later, the children's book "Tiger Without a Tail."

Karla Deaver grew up and lives on her family's dairy farm in Southwest Missouri She is a 1982 Miller graduate An active advocate for ag education, she has worked for the University of Missouri for well over three decades educating youth about agriculture in general and dairy specifically She has been recognized by the University of Missouri and Missouri Farm Bureau for her work in youth education and has led the Missouri 4-H Dairy Judging Team to National and International Competitions Teaching people, especially children, about agriculture is her passion Karla has written two children's books with an agriculture focus The Fabulous, Fantastic, Field Trip to the Dairy Farm is her first book, and the first in a series that will focus on different kinds of agriculture My Best Friend Murphey tells the story of a young boy with autism and how his relationship with a Guernsey heifer changed his life.

She is a retired public health and school nurse.
